I really like the PPX. It is the easiest computer I have ever used. Easy to navigate through the menu’s. I’m really digging the dual algorithm allowing me to match my students devices. I am going to be doing about 10 to 15 dive’s a week with this and I’m excited put this thing to work!

Just finished a number of test dives with the new Oceanic PPX dive computer. This computer is sweet! Super-bright screen that is very easy to read, especially for ‘mature’ eyes, and in low light conditions. The menu is easy to navigate and access the info you want. I found that even without reading the manual, I was able to find the info I needed without much difficulty. Especially like the battery life: I dove the PPX for the better part of a week on one charge with plenty of battery life to spare. Overall, based on my dives, this computer would be a winner for anyone looking for a cutting edge, easy to read dive computer.

Here are the 3 greatest things about the ProPlus X
1. The large screen. You can see all of your vital dive info, very easily.
2. Safety Stop Info. When it’s time for the Safety Stop the computer adds this alert to your screen in yellow and the countdown timer is also in yellow. This makes safety stops very easy and safe.
3. Gas consumption. Since the computer is connected via a hose to the 1st Stage, it measures your starting gas, consumed gas, ending gas and calculates gas time remaining in minutes. Some of this info is displayed on the dive computer and some is saved when importing to the DiverLog app. Knowing my starting gas, consumed gas and ending gas shows me how I did during the dive.
Do yourself a favor and buy this dive computer.

works great for my technical diving that I do professionally.

I purchased this computer for two main reasons. First and foremost because it is very easy to read. The color screen is amazing. Next I wanted all my dive information and alarms in one place. It even has an electronic compass that works fairly well. The menu’s are intuitive and very easy to use. I definitely recommend this computer.

I recently had the opportunity to dive with Oceanic Pro Plus X computer and I am nothing but impressed! This is a phenomenal console computer for recreational divers and I thoroughly enjoy using it.

I like the dive computer but the Divelog software sucks. It is not worth the time it takes to download it. If recording your dives is important find a different computer that has software that actually works.

I’ve been diving with this product for over a year and love it. One word of caution. It’s extremely easy to accidentally put the computer in Gauge Mode and once you’ve entered Gauge Mode, you have to leave the computer on the shelf for 24 hours. Typically a rookie mistake but I’ve met three people who made the same error. Initial tutorials could have been better but the product is fairly intuitive. Haven’t looked to see if more extensive tutorials have been uploaded by manufacturer. 5 star product.

I’ve used this computer for about 10 dives and I’m totally awed by its performance. Being new to diving I wanted top of the line equipment as I was a professional skydiver with over 2000 dives before I started SCUBA diving. This computer is , in my opinion, top of the line. You can never have anything more accurate in this sport than a perfect computer to get you through your dives.

6-8% of males in this country have Red/Green color deficiency in their vision (Deuteranopia) . Unfortunately, I am one of them. The display on the ProPlus X turns RED when limits are reached or alerts are triggered which can suddenly make it invisible to someone like myself. Obviously, this can produce a very unsafe situation at depth. Unfortunately, the colors on this display could not be customized to accommodate my vision and so I decided to exchange it for the ProPlus 4 instead which has a liquid crystal display instead. The 30 day no hassle guarantee was wonderful and made the exchange very easy. I was refunded the difference in price with no problems. Despite the beauty of ProPlus X computer, the TFT display was very difficult to see in bright sunlight and the digital compass was unreliable and had to be recalibrated several times (spinning around in full gear to calibrate a digital compass is not fun and makes one feel rather foolish when forced to do so repeatedly!).

Very user friendly interface. Easy set up, and super easy to log dives with the DiverLog Lite software. Here’s why I can’t give it a better rating though: The first was great until it froze up due to a software issue, which I promptly received a warranty replacement for (kudos to Oceanic Customer Service for that!). Mine was replaced under warranty with no cost except the shipping. The warranty unit functions perfectly with the exception that the colors appear to be less vibrant. Greens and blues appear dulled, kind of grayish. On the surface, no big deal. While diving, this lack of brightness makes seeing the display a bit tricky if the sun is reflecting off the screen, a problem I never had with my first unit. Based on the serial number, this appears to be a refurbished, older unit which may be why. I am fine with a refurbished unit, but I do expect the quality to be the same and I don’t believe this is. This is still an amazing computer and I would certainly recommend it to prospective buyers, but my experience with the differences between the two units I’ve had make it impossible for me to give this product a better rating.
